Many have talked about best deodrants, benefits of deodrants and natural home remedies that act as deodrants. But I wonder why no one talks about the potential risks of using deodrants instead many tells about the demerits of not using deodrants.
Well many think that using deodrants with harsh chemicals are not good for health so they opt for eco friendly or skin friendly options. But the problem is not with the ingredients used in preparing them but the overall product itself a problem. Opting for any eco friendly options does no help.
To make you understand why deodrants are not good. Lets know about some basic functions of human body.
We will talk about discharges in human body. Discharges in human body like sweat, urine, stools, tears, mucous , menses etc. discharges have peculiar reason to come out of body. Most of its function is to send the unwanted waste material out of the body. So sweat is also same, it excretes few toxic materials out of the body. When we use deodrants we are not letting the sweat out of the body, so ultimately we are not allowing our body to eliminate its waste material out of the body. The toxic materials buildsup in our body by not letting them out. It leads to many complications in long run.
Everyone talks about the bacterial growth in sweat when you sweat more but why no one talks about the potential risk of not letting your sweat out. To make you understand in simple terms i will give you an example.
Nature has its own laws and principles and we are obliged to obey them at any cost. We all know that natural calamities occur when earth is overwhelming with destruction. We build reservoirs by blocking rivers, we build residential areas by filling medium to large ponds. When the water is blocked in the rainy seasons the floods occur. So many of the natural calamities to occur there is human involvement. Humans are also part of nature ,even human body has set of laws and principles it follows. So We should not disturb our bodys natural functioning that may be anything. When we interfere in it's natural process we are damaging our body with our own hands. We might not see it's potential risks immediately after using them but in long run we may have few diseases complicated with it. Initially our body tries to compensate the process, it tries to cope with the loss it has in long duration it gets tired and gives up on us that's when symptoms start to appear for us and we then we gets alert.
Applying deodrants or antiperspirants that may be natural or chemical, it's not about the ingredients of these deodrants but the purpose of them. We are trying to stop perspiration, this is where we are going against the natural law of our body.
The sweat is secreted by the sweat glands there are two types of sweat glands apocrine and eccrine. Eccrine are present all over the body palms soles forehead etc apocrine are present in axillary region and anogenital area these are present in hair follicles rather than pores.
Apocrine glands are controlled by endocrine system.
So by this you will understand that when you deal with apocrine glands you are indirectly dealing with endocrine system the system which is responsible for most the important functions in your body.
In homeopathy we were taught that when you are suppressing your perspiration you are suppressing your menses. When one is suppressing the perspiration in long run they will end up with pcod in women.
Natural sweat is not supposed to be suppressed in any way.
Some ways to reduce perspiration odour
Take plenty of water
Wear cotton breathable fabrics. Avoid tight and synthetic clothes.
Exercise daily
Don't eat pungent food like spices, onions garlic etc. have refreshing foods like cucumber, lemons , watermelons etc
Take bath twice a day
Remove hair frequently
Even after all this you want to use deodrants, use them once in a while. Only when you think it's important. When you are indoors try not to use these products. Be gentle on yourselves and don't try to apply harsh things like baking soda or lemon on your axilla.
In the end embrace yourself. It's fine that you perspire a lot because it's a common physiological process. You don't need to worry about it unless it's quite abnormal like change in colour or the odour is offensive.
