What is homeopathy

 


There are many myths about homeopathy on the internet that homeopathy is placebo, that it is pseudoscience , homeopathy medicines doesn't have any medicinal properties retained in it because of its dilution process , homeopathy is slow in action , homeopathy is only for chronic diseases and many more.

       I'm going to explain homeopathy in simple terms and make you understand what it is actually.

The founder of homoeopathy is Dr.Sammuel Hahnemann , before he found homeopathy he was an old school physician who fed up with the terrible practices done back in those days to treat  diseases. He was into translating translating medical books into different languages. He came across a experiment of cinchona bark in a book called cullen's materia medica. He found that cinchona bark has fever producing symptoms , based on that he made many experiments and formulated law of similia. Which means every substance which produces disease will also have disease curing properties.

Homeopathy medicines are made from plants ,animals and minerals.



The medicine making process is entirely different from all other system of medicines. This where the controversy begins. The process of making medicine in homeopathy is called as potentisation also called as dynamisation. The medicinal substance is not just diluted to the infinity it is also potentised. Because of repeated potentisation the latent energy is activated in the medicines. During the process of succession and tritutation the molecules of the medicinal substance and vehicle collide with eachother and with the walls of bottle which leads to liberation of energy by compromising the molecular masses. 

Homeopathy is based on the principle "similia similibus curentur" that means like cures like . This was first formulated by Hippocrates but he didn't take it further. 

In homeopathy individualisation is the also the unique thing to be considered. Unlike old school where they have one particular medicine for that particular disease , homeopathy has more than one medicine for one disease. But only one single medicine will be prescribed in the end by eliminating all the remedies considering his symptoms (reaction of body and mind to the disease). In allopathy one medicine is given for one symptom for example when a person is suffering from coryza and fever he give one medicine for coryza and the another medicine for fever if condition is severe they add antibiotics to the list on addition to that they add antacids to narrow down the effect of antibiotics action on stomach. Whereas in homeopathy consider how many symptoms you have you will be given only one medicine. In homeopathy medicine is given for the sick person not for the disease. Every individual person is different from the other person so even though two persons are suffering from the same disease they can't be prescribed same medicine in homeopathy.



Homeopathy is neither slow acting nor it is only good for chronic diseases. In acute diseases it acts quicker than any other system of medicines. 

In chronic diseases homeopathy medicines are to be used for longer durations because the chronic diseases are needed to be eradicated from roots so they take longer duration.

In the end what I explained now is just a drop in ocean. Many complaint that homeopathy didn't show any effect on my condition, yes sometimes homeopathic physicians might fail in treating few cases or find it difficult to cure a case may be because the patient didn't co-operate with the physician or there might be something that physician overlooked. At last I can say one thing that A HOMEOPATHIC PHYSICIAN MIGHT FAIL BUT HOMEOPATHY NEVER FAILS.

We don't give attention to our eating habits unless we suffer from something. from then we try to improve lifestyle and but we gradually quit because it is hard to stay motivated .
