When it comes to health women face many challenges in their lifetime. After menopause their suffering takes another step higher. How much ever healthier food they eat their suffering is inevitable sometimes. We eat a lot of food but sometimes we need to prioritise what to eat to lead our life much healthier.
Here are few food suggestions that I recommend for every woman to include in their diet in one or the other way.
Finger millets
It is known as ragi in India. Finger millets are the great source of calcium for women. It is a best plant based calcium source who are on vegan diet. It is a versatile millet that you can use it in different recipes like soups, dosas, roti( indian tortillas), idlis, in some kind of sweet treats and so on. You should always be cautious when trying new food. Some might have allergic reactions.
Sesame seeds
Again these teeny tiny seeds are rich in calcium these are used in many dishes bit in very little amount. These seeds have to be taken in large quantities to acquire the benefits. Fortunately there are many receipes in which we can include them in good amount. So these having atleast two tablespoons full in any way everyday might be helpful.
Edamame or soya bean
Eat which ever is available to you. Soy is rich in protein . Edamame contains all the nine essential amino acids, best source of protein for vegans. It is also helpful in estrogen production. Including it one or the other way in your diet is most helpful.
Fenugreek seeds
These seeds have many benefits for women. They support hormonal health in women. It also helps in vaginal lubrication. It is known for controlling the diabetes to an extent.
Fermented food
Any kind of fermented food is helpful in growing your good gut microbiomes, which inturn helps in good absorption of nutrients from the food and promote overall healthy lifestyle.
Magnesium rich food
The said foods like ragi, soy are also rich in magnesium. Some more magnesium rich foods are leafy greens, chickpea, almonds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds etc. magnesium rich food helps in reducing period cramps. Make your period days much smoother.
Nuts
Nut are superfood that i don't need to mention their benefits as everyone knows about them. Including them in your diet in moderation is the most beneficial thing you do to your body.
Seasonal foods
Never forget to have seasonal food which are local to you. I feel that the soil and your body are connected deeply. As you are born in that soil, that soil knows what your body needs and what to produce for your body.so the food produced in your soil will give the nutrients what your body needs. So having seasonal fruits native to your area is like giving your body a power supply.
